Most race games go around the board; this one goes straight up. Leaps and Ledges sends your pawns climbing a tall colorful tower, and the first player to get all four to the top is crowned the tower champion.

How it plays at home

Play a card to move a pawn up a level or two, or leap higher if the number lets you. The same-color rule means a crowded platform can trap you, so timing matters. Special cards flip the order or send pawns tumbling, which keeps leaders nervous.

It is a nice step up from simple race games for kids who are ready for some strategy. Tip: keep a Wild or Precision card in reserve for the final climb, when one blocked step can cost the whole game.

Fun for a wide age range!

This is a new favorite game for our kids. All three of them (ages 4-10) love playing. If your kids can play Uno together without getting personally offended, them they can enjoy this game. Players have the option to set opponents back, which increases the difficulty and fun, but some kids might struggle not to get upset. Also, it's really hard to fit back into the box.
